How to Use PLR Articles for Content Marketing Success

Content marketing is one of the best ways to grow your business.

Whether you have an Etsy store, Shopify store, you’re promoting your book or have some other online business, building trust with your readers through your written content is one of the best ways to serve your audience.

But there’s a problem with writing blog posts. It’s constant and it’s a struggle to keep up with all of the content you need to write along with doing all of the other things that business owners do.

So what do you do? Do you hire someone to write for you? That’s a good option. An expensive option but definitely an option.

Do you use AI? Sure! But did you know that there is another way to get high-quality content for your blog that is far more affordable? That option is called PLR or private label rights articles and they can be such a time saver!

I am excited to share with you how you can use PLR in your business and how it can help you grow your audience and increase your revenue.

PLR articles, or Private Label Rights articles, are pre-written articles that you can purchase and use as your own. They’re a great way to save time and effort while still providing valuable content for your audience.

What Are PLR Articles?

PLR (Private Label Rights) articles are pre-written content that you can purchase and use for your own purposes.

PLR articles are articles that have been written by someone else and are sold with the intention of being used by others, usually an online business owner like you.

These articles are usually sold individually or in packages and can cover a wide range of topics. The content is written by professional writers and can be used as-is (not recommended) or edited to fit your needs.

PLR articles are different from other types of content because they come with certain rights.

You have the right to use the content as your own, which means you can put your name on it, edit it, and use it any way you see fit AS LONG AS you stick to the terms of usage (sorry didn’t mean to shout).

Ahhh yes, there are always a few restrictions on PLR but they usually aren’t too strict. And the benefits of using PLR far outweigh any limitations that they might come with. Let’s discuss some of those benefits now.

Benefits of Using PLR in Content Marketing

I love to use examples in my blog posts because I think it makes everything so much clearer when you can see a concept illustrated in the real world.

So let’s say you run an Etsy store business where you sell digital products like planners for moms.

And you decide you want to promote your products on a platform other than Etsy so you can get more sales so you decide to start a blog. But you quickly realize that running a blog and an Etsy store is A LOT.

This is where PLR content comes in.

You would find PLR content about parenting and moms specifically that you know would add value to your readers and potential customers.

Then you edit that content to fit your own unique voice and brand.

The key to PLR content is putting your own spin on it. You want it to reflect your company’s values.

You just use the PLR content as a skeleton that you then bring to life. You give the content heart, soul, and personality.

Before you know it, it won’t look like the same piece of content that you purchased.

It will be uniquely yours but it took a whole lot less time to create. That way you’ll have more time to spend on creating value for your customers in other ways.

Here are some of the benefits of using PLR articles in your content marketing strategy broken down:

  • Saves Time: As we already mentioned, consistently writing content from scratch can be time-consuming and challenging. PLR articles can save you time and effort by providing pre-written content that you can use as-is or edit to fit your needs.

  • Affordable: Hiring a professional writer to create content for your business can be expensive. PLR articles are an affordable alternative that can help you stay within your budget. And not only that but you can find free PLR articles although I’ll be honest… most of them are not good.

  • Provides Variety: There are so many PLR articles that it would be hard not to find ones that cover your own business niche. PLR articles cover a wide range of topics and can provide variety to your content marketing strategy. And lest you think that PLR is just for articles, then let me reassure you. You can actually use PLR to create blog posts, social media content, email newsletters, digital products, and more.

  • Improves SEO: Best of all using PLR articles can help improve your website’s SEO by providing fresh, relevant content that search engines and your readers will love.

Now are you beginning to see why using PLR articles can be a great way to supplement your content marketing strategy and help your business grow?

Where Can You Find PLR Articles

So going back to our example of an Etsy store owner who has a blog and needs content for it stat…they are going to look for PLR content like “How To Homeschool Your Children” or “Kids Activities For A Rainy Day”. But where would they look?

Well if they are looking for PLR articles to help grow your business with content marketing, there are several places they can look. Here are a few options:

1. PLR Websites

There are many websites that specialize in selling PLR articles so just go to Google and type in PLR articles + your business or blog niche. You will be blessed by tons of search results.

These sites offer a wide range of topics and niches, so you can find articles that are relevant to your business.

Some popular PLR websites include PLR.me, IDPLR, and Master Resell Rights.

2. Membership Sites

There are also membership sites that you can join that will provide your business with PLR or done-for-you content every month.

These sites are another great option for finding PLR articles however they typically require a monthly or yearly fee, so I would only do this if you are sure you’ll be provided with content that fits your marketing strategy.

Some popular membership sites include Resell Rights Weekly and Ivory Mix but I can’t vouch for those personally because I haven’t used them. I do know that Ivory Mix puts out high-quality content and products though!

3. Freelance Writers

If you’re looking for high-quality PLR articles that are unique and tailored to your business, you may want to consider hiring a freelance writer or writing agency.

Many freelance writers offer PLR article writing services, and they can create articles that are specifically designed to meet your needs.

As you can see, there are many options available when it comes to finding PLR articles for your business. But once you get a PLR article what do you do with it?

A Brief Overview Of How To Create Content Content PLR Articles

Hopefully, by now you can see why PLR articles can be a great resource for content creation for your business. However, please whatever you do, do NOT use them as-is!

Why?

Because this can result in duplicate content issues and a lack of originality and creativity. I’d rather you not write blog posts at all than to write blog posts that are boring and don’t add anything of value to your business.

So in this section, we’ll explore how to use PLR articles effectively in your content marketing strategy.

You Must Rewrite PLR For Originality

One way to use PLR articles is to rewrite them to make them unique. This involves changing the wording, sentence structure, and even the tone of the article.

I know I know…this seems like a lot of work and frankly, it is.

Unfortunately, no tool or PLR article can completely eliminate all the work involved in blogging IF you want to have a high-quality blog and I know you do.

But it is still easier than creating a blog post from scratch which means you can deliver more valuable content to your readers more often!

To rewrite PLR articles effectively, start by reading through the article and taking note of the main points. Highlight areas that need to be changed and delete parts that you don’t like or don’t align with your business’ message.

Continue editing the article using your own words, life experiences, business insights, and ideas. To speed up the process even more you can also use tools like Grammarly to help with grammar and sentence structure.

Let’s go back to the entrepreneur selling digital products on Etsy that caters to moms.

If she bought a PLR article that was about Activities For Children On Rainy Days, she would want to think about several things as she rewrote and edited her article.

She needs to consider how a mom is feeling when she is searching for an article like that.

That mom may have 3 bored children at home who are upset that they can’t go out and play and she desperately needs to keep them busy.

Another thing that this Etsy shop owner needs to consider is how she can relate the article to her brand’s products and services that she provides.

Does she sell a printable in her shop that this frantic mother could download right now and hand to her children?

Does the shop owner have a planner that a mother could purchase that could help her plan for rainy days in advance so she always has something for her kids to do?

Incorporate those ideas into your article as you edit it and make it your own.

Align Your PLR With Your Brand Voice

One of the things you’ll want to be sure and do with your PLR articles is customize it to match your brand’s voice. By aligning the content with your brand’s tone and style, you can ensure that your audience will recognize your brand and connect with your message.

To align PLR articles with your brand voice, you can edit the content to include your brand’s keywords, phrases, products, and messaging. You can also adjust the tone and style of the content to match your brand’s personality.

Customizing PLR For Your Audience

Another advantage of PLR articles is that you can customize them for your audience. By understanding your audience’s needs and interests, you can tailor the content to meet their specific needs.

To customize PLR articles for your audience, you can add examples, case studies, and other relevant information that will resonate with your audience.

You can also adjust the language and tone of the content to match your audience’s preferences.

Don’t Forget To Optimize Your PLR To Increase Your Google Traffic

Keyword Optimization with PLR

Every business owner wants to rank on page one for their target keywords. And if they say they don’t well…but I digress.

Because everyone wants to rank on Google you want to remember to optimize your articles using Google’s best practices.

By incorporating relevant keywords into your content, you can improve your website’s search engine rankings and attract more traffic to your site. And the people typing in those keywords tend to be people in your target market!

To optimize your PLR articles for keywords, start by identifying the keywords you want to target. I use Keysearch and Google itself to find keywords.

If you need more information about keyword research then I wrote an article about it here.

I personally use the software tool Keysearch to find relevant keywords with high search volumes and low competition. Then, I incorporate those keywords into my PLR articles naturally, using their feature called the Content Assistant.

If you get Keysearch and decide to use PLR, I would highly recommend using them together so you can get your articles to rank in Google.

Building Backlinks with PLR Content By Doing This

Backlinks are an essential factor in SEO, and they are crucial for improving your website’s search engine rankings. One way to build backlinks is by using PLR content for guest posts.

You can use highly edited PLR articles to create guest posts on other websites, which will include a link back to your website. This will help you build backlinks and improve your website’s search engine rankings.

Measuring the Impact of PLR on Business Growth

Tracking Content Performance

One of the most important steps in measuring the impact of PLR on business growth is tracking the performance of your content.

I don’t know how many times I’ve bloggers and business owners say that they have tons of PLR content just clogging up their hard drives not being used.

By monitoring the performance of your PLR content, you can determine which pieces are resonating with your audience and which ones are falling flat.

To track the performance of your PLR content, you can use tools like Google Analytics or social media analytics platforms.

These tools can help you measure metrics like page views, time on page, bounce rate, and social media engagement.

By analyzing these metrics, you can gain insights into what types of PLR content are most effective in driving traffic and engagement.

Analyzing PLR ROI

Another key factor in measuring the impact of PLR on business growth is analyzing the return on investment (ROI) of your PLR content. While PLR content can be a cost-effective way to produce content for your business, it’s important to ensure that it’s delivering a positive ROI.

To calculate the ROI of your PLR content, you’ll need to compare the cost of the PLR content to the revenue generated from that content. For example, if you purchase a PLR article for $10 and it generates $100 in revenue, your ROI would be 900%.

Whoa, right?!

In addition to calculating the ROI of individual pieces of PLR content, you can also analyze the overall ROI of your PLR content strategy.

By comparing the cost of your PLR content to the revenue generated by all of your PLR content, you can determine whether this strategy is a cost-effective way to grow your business.

Overall, tracking the performance of your PLR content and analyzing its ROI are essential steps in measuring the impact of PLR on business growth.

By using these metrics to guide your content marketing strategy, you can ensure that your PLR content is delivering real value to your business.

Are You Ready To Use PLR To Grow Your Business?

So what do you think, friend? Are you feeling PLR or no? I think PLR products can be a brilliant part of your business strategy.

But to be transparent some people think it’s cheating or that using PLR means that your writing isn’t coming from the heart.

I get that. But at the end of the day, I don’t put anything on my blog that I don’t believe in.

So I wouldn’t use PLR that didn’t align with my personal or business values. I wouldn’t put something on my website that I find questionable or don’t agree with wholeheartedly.

Is it wrong to use PLR because every single word on the page didn’t come directly from my mind? Some people feel that way and I respect that.

But I stand by the idea that you can use PLR to grow your business as long as long as it truly helps and serves your readers and provides value to their lives.

And speaking of adding value to your readers, if you struggle with organizing your blog posts and other business content, then I think this blog post here will help!

It’s about the best way to organize your content, whether it be PLR or content you’ve written from scratch and it’s truly transformed my business, no like. I hope to see you there!
